Design Team Display Support for National Saturday Club

Saturday Clubs offer 13-16 year old a chance to meet exceptional people and learn new skills.

Kids lucky enough to attend a recent workshop at University of Wolverhampton certainly met two exceptional people who passed on some of their considerable skills.

Sane Mafa and Jason Fernandes sacrificed their Saturday morning to run a workshop for the National Saturday Club at Wolverhampton University. They met kids interested in art & design to give them an insight in a career in design – as well as setting a challenging design brief for the group.

Sane said this week “It was brilliant to have the opportunity to work with such an enthusiastic group at Saturday Club. This was no lazy Saturday morning – they worked hard on our design brief and their designs showed real talent.”

The University of Wolverhampton run Saturday Club courses in fashion & business and writing & talking as well as art & design, The classes are free and offer kids the chance to learn more about further education and career opportunities.

Sane and Jason offered great role models for the group. Jason is Design Manager for the Mid West Displays and Sane already has her own range of acrylic furniture at Love It. Own It.

The event was another example of our collaboration with the Design department at the University of Wolverhampton.
