The Impact of an LED Display

The use of lighting creates an emotional connection, which develops at both psychological and behavioral levels. As research in the Journal of Consumer Psychology explains, lighting has an impact on decision making and our emotions.

In another recent study the results speak of the power of lighting to convert browsers into buyers. Specifically, the report found that “85% of the respondents felt that color, lighting, ambiance and attractive visuals make them spend more time in store… Results clearly indicate that, in general, stores that are brightly lit with the lights cleverly blending with the interiors lead to higher customer comfort and, as such, more sales.”

In terms of visuals and their impact on the final buying decision, the survey also illustrates that “75% percent of customers said that their final buying decision is affected by visuals and display of apparels.” Effective lighting was noted as one of the biggest influences in the final buying decision.

Buyers instinctually follow paths of light; they also turn to face walls that are illuminated. Both of these insights point to using an LED display in windows and interiors to create high impact displays.

Using the correct LED lighting and planning where to use the LED is essential; poorly planned displays or too much LED can be as much a deterrent to consumers as much as a well chosen LED used as part of an planned overall display designs can be an effective selling tool. An experienced LED display company can help with planning and design.

A sustainable LED Display

For the retailer, LED also has many economic and environmental advantages. LED is a low-cost lighting option. The initial investment is often lower than other lighting options and modern LED is virtually maintenance-free with a life expectancy of up to 60,000hrs. They require no specialist electrical installation and no ongoing maintenance.

From an environmental point of view modern LED lighting is manufactured to minimise the amount of energy used, so they are a sustainable option even if used 24/7
