Mid West Displays partnered with Westlands, Yeovil’s leading entertainment venue, to upgrade its digital communications with a modern, high-impact display solution. Replacing ageing, bulky screens with larger, brighter digital menu boards has enhanced visibility, improved content flexibility and helped the venue better engage its 250,000 annual visitors.
Somerset’s premier entertainment venue Westlands offers a thriving programme of shows & events, a busy conference centre and popular bar and café that sees up to a 250,000 visitors annually – so clear and engaging communications play an important role in enhancing visitor experience.
The venue has a legacy of digital communications, the existing screens’ dated bulky look was no longer very appealing, and when some screens began to fail it was definitely time for replacements.
Westlands is run by Yeovil Town Council. The urgency of the need to replace the screens meant the project was exempt from tendering but Mid West Displays were recommended by a someone working for an organisation that had purchased digital signage from us following a competitive tender process so the team were confident they would get best value.
Larger, high-impact displays delivering improved visibility and engagement
Although the initial plan was a like-for-like replacement of the screens, Account Manager Dave Paddock recommended slightly larger screens and this has proved to be sound advice, giving the screens more prominence and therefore greater noticeability.
In total we supplied eight 50” Digital Menu Boards – delivering engaging and informative content in the Café Bar and Box Office area. Installer Carl securely mounted the screens in place, and commissioned the screens enabling immediate rollout once content was updated.
Seamless installation & intuitive CMS enabling instant content control
The screens include My Signage Portal Content Management Software, and the team has found this useful and easy to use. It gives the team access to marketing templates, dynamic multi zone templates as well as scheduling software and remote content updating that the whole marketing team can utilise.
